A JUNEE man who robbed service stations at Temora and Cootamundra and threatened a store attendant with a tomahawk has been jailed for five years with a three-year non-parole period.

Adam Murray Harrison was sentenced by Judge Leonie Flannery at Sydney’s Downing Centre District Court.
He had pleaded guilty to the armed robbery with an offensive weapon of the Temora Caltex service station on Hoskins Street and another service station in Cootamundra on June 6, 2015.
Harrison was sentenced to a five-year prison term backdated to September 22, 2015.
It is set to expire on September 21, 2020.
Several other charges were also considered by Judge Flannery during the sentencing.
They include driving a vehicle while disqualified, use of an unregistered vehicle, larceny and failing to stop during a police pursuit.
The jail terms for those charges are to be served concurrently with this latest sentence.
Harrison was arrested at Wagga police station in September last year.
He had threatened a Temora store attendant with a tomahawk, stealing $606.30 in cash and three pairs of sunglasses.
He was also found to have stolen a set of car number plates from a parked vehicle at Cootamundra before driving off without paying for $80 worth of fuel from Caltex in Temora.
The 27-year-old led police on a pursuit at Goulburn just after 2.25am on June 7.
The pursuit was initially terminated due to the danger presented to the public.
Harrison also got away with $1000 in cash and 25 packets of cigarettes from Cootamundra’s Metro service station a week earlier on May 31, 2015.
The robberies sent shock waves through both towns at the time.
Harrison is already serving a 10-month jail sentence for unrelated violence and drug charges.
The drugs charges revealed Harrison supplied 0.06 grams of methamphetamine for $100 on April 9, 2015, along with 0.25 grams of methamphetamine for $300 on April 23, 2015. – The Temora Independent
