“It’s the last long road trip we have for the year,” Hands said.
“We had a tough first few rounds – now that we’ve had the bye to freshen up and we’re looking to continue the momentum we started with.”
The Diesels have got five wins and one loss to their name and have every chance of making the finals.
Junee sits on 12 points, equal second with Temora – so far the only team to beat the Diesels this season.
Hands said he expected a physical game in Tumbarumba and said the Greens had scored a few solid results.
The Diesels can’t afford to take them lightly.
“If you don’t turn up, they can still win,” he said.
“We’ve got two more weeks before the general bye, they’re two important weeks before we get that time off.”
Hands said the four points on offer would help decide their chances as the Group Nine season approached the business end of the competition.
Junee’s team is expected to be at full strength although they won’t be able to call upon Brad McCarthy’s services.
McCarthy has been one of the team’s solid contributors scoring three tries in six games.
Hands said Daniel Foley’s fitness after the Riverina country championship game would also be assessed on the day.
He said forward Patrick Sagigi was away visiting family in the Torres Strait and would return for the Diesels’ game against Tumut at Laurie Daley Oval.
Hands said the Diesels were spending the week focusing on fitness and skills ahead the game at Tumbarumba Showground.
