The 2016 Junee Rhythm’n’Rail Festival, sponsored by Qube Logistics, will get your toes tapping and bring to life your sense of fun on March 12 and 13.
The action-packed two-day festival will kick off this weekend in celebration of Junee’s distinctive rail history with live music and fun for all the family.
The festival will be officially opened at 10am on Saturday at the Junee Athenium. The Athenium will host a range of musical entertainment throughout the weekend including cabaret by Life in the Spotlight and the Tuggeranong Ukulele Gang of more than 60 performers.
As patrons flow outside they will find a selection of markets, coffee and food stalls, the Zana Aerial Dance Academy performing, buskers and plenty of entertainment for the kids with the Tony Joes Kids Zone. The fun and markets will also spill over into Railway Square.
Patrons can explore the town with ease on both days thanks to buses which run every 15 minutes covering main attractions including Railway Square, Licorice and Chocolate Factory, Monte Cristo, Broadway Museum and the Junee Roundhouse.
Tickets are available at every bus stop point on Saturday.

Highlights of Saturday include Australian and World Record holder Lawrence Legend, who will attempt a jump length ways over a 48 Class Locomotive. The stunt will take place at the Monte Cristo homestead at 3.30pm.
Sunday’s family focus continues with a Poets Breakfast from 8am before Memorial Park comes to life with all things motor.
Amid the markets and succulent smell of a Junee lamb spit roast patrons can wander the Junee Motor Club show and shine’s impressive range of new and vintage vehicles.
The weekend will be capped off with a winners performance of the Junee Search for a Star at Memorial Park from 12.30pm to 3.30pm on Sunday. The finals take place at the Commercial Hotel on Saturday night.

Ride the steam train shuttles
The Junee Railway Cafe is proud to present Steam Engine 3237 for the enjoyment of festival patrons.
Across the weekend the train will be making daily trips from Junee, Wagga, Cootamundra and the historic Bethungra spiral.
Prices start from $45 per adult and $20 per child under 16, or $130 for a family of four. Children 3 and under are free.
Built in 1892, the 3237 is a coal-fired express passenger locomotive which will take you back in time.
A steam train dinner will run on Saturday night departing Wagga. Tickets are $100 and include return train tickets, canapes and a three course dinner with sparkling at the Junee Railway Station Refreshment Rooms.
