Playing Terry Rosewell from the Rules Club, Shaw, 29, won the President Single Final 31-12.
Shaw built an impressive lead from the outset, playing controlled draw bowls allowing him to build a lead of 10-2 after seven ends.
He built the lead into a insurmountable score of 26-7 with the finish line in sight.
Rosewell showed some fight late in the game, winning three ends adding just four shots to his score.
Shaw meanwhile, bowled with a maturity beyond his years and scored five shots needed to win his maiden district president singles title.
Shaw said he didn’t expect the win after a couple of tough games leading up to it and said he simply focused on playing his best.
“I didn’t think about it too much, it was just another game,” Shaw said.
“I got a few lucky shots.”
Meanwhile, Junee Bowling Club’s championship season kicked off last Saturday.
The pick of the matches in the first round of the club fours was between Brett Fanning and Craig Shaw who delivered plenty of action.
Shaw’s team of Jake Hersant, Corey Hazell, Bryan Purse rocketed out to a 8-nil lead after four ends until Fanning’s team of Nathan Charlton, Brendon “Billy” Seton, Kelvin Seton finally scored four shots over two ends.
Along with the team, Shaw’s determined play saw them extend their lead to 15 shots (20-5) after 14 ends.
Fanning staged a comeback that would make Lazarus green with envy with an incredible 18 shots in the next five ends to hold a three shot lead (23-20) with two ends left.
Shaw managed to drag back two shots in the penultimate end, to be behind by a solitary shot with one end to play.
In the final end, Fanning’s lead Charlton drew the perfect bowl to the jack to secure a two shot victory for his team to win 24-22 and advance to the second round.
In the other match, Richard Thomas, Jack Cousley, Graham Miller and Martin Cousley were too strong in their victory over Wilbur Mann, Alan Kearins, Graham Oehm and Mick Poole winning 30-10.
