Lilly Barton, 4, is one of 27 students who started at Junee North Public School this year.
Lilly said she had had fun during her first few days at school, making friends with Holly, Polly and Savannah.
“You get to make stuff,” she said excitedly.
“I made some new friends.
“I’m looking forward to doing more.
“My teacher (Mrs McDevitt) is nice”.
Lilly’s dad Will Barton said the fact she was going to school was still “sinking in”.
“It’s almost scary how quick the time has flown, but we couldn’t be prouder,” he said.
Mr Barton said the school transition program had a made a big difference.
“It gets them used to being at the school, shows them where the playground, classroom and toilets are,” he said.
“It makes a difference. especially from Family Day Care where there’s only three to four kids, compared to 300 to 400 students.”
