More than 1100 homes – roughly half of the town were left without power as trees blew into powerlines, cutting the electricity supply.
Essential Energy isolated the affected area after discovering the fault at 9.52am.
Crews were later able to restore power at 10.56am.
An Essential Energy spokeswoman advised residents could contact the company for information about unplanned power outages on 13 20 80.
