But while the club’s board has faced turmoil in finding a replacement for Group Nine stalwart Leo McCarthy, there’s been much less worry on the coach’s bench.
The Diesels made it to the grand final for the third time in 30 years, but fell to Gundagai in the final match.
Captain-coach Matt Hands has said 90 per cent of the team will line up again for 2016 in their pursuit of the premiership.
Next year, it will be the 30th anniversary of Junee’s last Group Nine premiership, won with the help of then rising star Laurie Daley.
“We’ll have a very similar team line up for next year,” Hands said.
It means the heavy hitters of Patrick Sagigi, Peter Little, Clifford Morris and Will Merritt will return in the blue and gold for 2016.
Hands said having a good solid team with local players along with contracted ones would give the club a head start – especially as other clubs move to secure new talent during the silly season.
“Ideally, we’d like to add another big body into the team, but a genuine front-rower is hard to find these days,” he said.
Hands said the team club wasn’t pushing hard to find extra players.
“Ideally, we’d like to add another big body into the team, but a genuine front-rower is hard to find these days. We’ve already got a good platform in place."

“We’ve already got a good platform in place.”
Hands said adding some extra size into the team was a luxury for the club with the first grade team otherwise having everything it needed for another tilt at the top prize.
“We’ve got a good solid team from last year,” he said.
“Hopefully we’ll be able to move forward and go that one step further.
“We’ll be better off for last year.”
Hands said the defeat to the Tigers would provide some motivation for the team to move forward and a strong team would mean strong turnout for the club’s pre-season training.
“We’re feeling nice and positive at this stage about 2016.”
Hands said the club would begin their preparation for the next season after the president’s job was filled.
The club has already held one failed annual general meeting plus a crisis meeting and last night, hosted a third attempt to find a club leader for 2016.
