Fran Heffernan, Hayley Stevens, Madison Harpley, Sarah Stevens, Miranda McLaughlin and Brooke Harpley all had significant achievements.
Fran Heffernan was named the club’s sportswoman of the year.
Coach Jacqui Stevens said the award, donated by Poynter Trophies was for players who not only demonstrated dedication to the sport but the club.
“She’s assisted with fundraising, she’s assisted at training, particularly with training younger players up,” Stevens said.
Stevens said Heffernan’s was also an excellent representative of Junee netball.
Both Heffernan and Hayley Stevens were selected for 15 years representative duties, their team finished second in the state age championships.
“Both girls won the most consistent player award – the second year in a row they’ve taken the award out,” Stevens said.
Hayley also claimed a Wagga netball scholarship which will fund new equipment as well as assisting with travel costs.
Brooke Harpley was runner-up best and fairest for the 14s team – an incredible effort considering she was only a 12-year-old player – she’s been selected in Wagga’s 14s representative team.
Both Madison Harpley and Miranda McLaughlin are part of Wagga Netball’s 17s representative team.
Sarah Stevens has completed her umpiring ‘C Badge’ which allows her to referee junior games – the first Junee girl who’s obtained the C badge.
As well as the premiership for the 11s netball team, a mixed team headed to Wagga for the gala day winning the division two championship with players from the 14s and 15s teams.
Junee also claimed the Cootamundra gala day first and second place honours for two mixed teams.
Stevens said it was thanks to supporters including the GEO Group and the Junee IGA for supporting the club which helped the club immeasurably.
