TOUR WATCH
Royal Caribbean International has redesigned its shore excursions, introducing new activities and grouping them into categories that the cruise line believes reflects today's passengers' interests. The new categories are: Active Adventures, Family Connections, Royal Tour Challenge, Culture and Sights, Culinary Delights, Caring Discoveries, and the Royal Premium Tour Collection.
Active Adventures, for example, include things such as tackling six zip lines and two sky bridges in Charlotte Amalie, St Thomas, to rappelling through small waterfalls, sliding toboggan-style down boulders and jumping off cliffs into natural pools at a watercourse in Madeira, Portugal.
Family Connections include things that can be enjoyed by both adults and kids, such as attending gladiator school in Rome, Italy.
