Booranga Writer’s Centre’s creative director Kate Dunn said the book was a collaboration between the centre and the Wagga’s Multi-Cultural Council.
Ms Dunn was in Junee to present a copy of the book to each of Junee High School’s food technology and hospitality students.
It includes recipes from South Sudan, France, Burma, Poland and beyond.
More than just recipes from around the world, the book also includes stories from people living in the Riverina.
“It’s a diverse range of people and a diverse range of recipes,” Ms Dunn said.
With food a critical part of people’s culture, Ms Dunn said it was a simple way to learn about other cultures.
“We borrow a lot of cuisine from other cultures.”
Junee High School’s principal Terry Vercoe said the gift from the Booranga Writer’s Centre was timely.
“Our students are studying multi-cultural cooking now, it’s a beautifully timed gift,” Mr Vercoe said.
Ms Dunn said she was hoping to gift the book to other Riverina schools.
Copies are also available from the Booranga Writer’s Centre for $2, contact the centre on 6933 2688.
