The two-day tournament will see father and son teams compete not only for a state title but also for a fantastic major prize of a golfing package to Fiji worth around $5000.
The event will be held at the Cootamundra Golf Course on Saturday and Sunday, August 1 and 2, and is a NSW Golf Association-sanctioned event.
In teams of two, the weekend will take the format of a 4Ball Stroke where the winner will take the title.
A 4Ball Stableford will be run in conjunction, which is where the major prize to Fiji will be up for grabs.
With more people eligible to play in the 36-hole stableford event, the golf club made the decision this is where the major prize should be won.
The prize package includes a trip for two to Fiji to compete in the Pacific Father and Son Championships over three days from October 19 to 22. Accommodation and meals are included.
Additionally, a $1000 Hello World travel voucher will be part of the prize to help cover the cost of airfares.
Any members of any golf club anywhere in NSW are eligible to play in the tournament with teams to be made of a father/son, grandfather/grandson, father-in-law/son-in-law or stepfather/stepson.
Entry for the two days of golf is $50 per player with names to be put down at the Cootamundra Pro Shop on 6942 2313.
