Hands was left disappointed after the Deisels failed to bring its best football for the whole game.
“We started well, which we spoke about, but once again we couldn’t play a good 80 minutes,” Hands said.
“There was just too much drop ball, too many silly penalties and gave them too many chances.
“In the end we were lucky to get away with the draw.”
The Diesels were on top in the scrappy first half before letting the Bulldogs get back into the contest.
Playing without Liam Foley, Brad McCarthy and Pat Guthrie, Hands is looking to have a few more players back on deck following this week’s bye.
The result keeps the Diesels in second place, two points behind Gundagai but a point ahead of Southcity after its shock loss to Brothers on Sunday.
