Sarah Stevens and Madi Harpley struggled with the intense defence from Turvey and were pinned at most opportunities to score.
Fran Heffernan and Emily Drum were forced to dig deep in defence with the extra height of Turvey’s shooters a huge disadvantage to the Storm girls through the whole court.
Elise Drum and Miranda McLaughlin with speed and ball control were strong on the wings and Hayley Stevens offered continual support throughout the centre.
Harpley was moved to defence in the last quarter allowing Ingrid Honner some goal time and Honner produced some smart moves to help Storm out.
Storm went down 45 to 24.
Madison Harpley, Miranda McLaughlin and Ingrid Honner were best and fairest this week.
GEO Stars had a bye.
GEO Gems had a tough game on the weekend against Uranquinty sparkles coming away with a loss 27 to 3.
Maddi Huard and Claire Herbert had strong games distributing the ball through the centre.
Rory Rowett and Lara Drum were speedy in the centre but the strength of the Sprkles was far too good for the Gems this week.
Training will resume Thursday, July 16 after the holidays.
Special mention to Fran Heffernan and Hayley Stevens who head off this weekend to the State Age Championships in Sydney.
