The sixth stage around Loughan Road and John Potts Drive has been released with Junee Shire Council appointing PRD Nationwide as selling agents.
The new land is divided into classic urban blocks with the smallest of the 21 lots measuring up at 572m2 and valued at $62,000.
This week, Junee Shire Council were still working away on the roads but PRD Nationwide real estate agent Jason Barrett said the kerb, sewer, telephone and electricity had been built.
Mr Barrett said similar sized blocks had been snapped up quite quickly in the past.
“This is the first time we’ve run out of land before they release more,” Mr Barrett said.
Mayor Neil Smith said Junee had options for all people, with both traditional urban land around Loughan Road and rural residential properties in Kaiser Estate.
He said Junee had double the growth of comparable towns elsewhere in the Riverina and had the chance to attract new residents from places like Wagga.
“Council generally had a plan to work to, to create a move liveable town,” Cr Smith said. “Council has made the right decisions in the past.”
He said the demand for residential property was affirmation of council’s previous decisions in years past.
Cr Smith said the latest land release was a chance for the council to broaden their rate base so they could continue to fund much needed services and further development.
Interest in the land around Loughan Road had already been received and Mr Barrett said it ranged from “empty nesters” looking for their dream home ahead of retirement or young couples starting up.
People moving to the area and tradesmen interested in building a display home had enquired.
Mr Barrett said PRD Nationwide would continue to act as the selling agents for Kaiser Estate.
Cr Smith said Kaiser Estate had slow start.
“We’re pleased the sales of Kaiser Estate are picking up,” Cr Smith said.
“It’s always the case until you’ve got a couple of houses built.”
