In two matches, Junee has scored nine and conceded just one goal.
Junee started strongly and had to work hard to keep an enthusiastic Tolland team in check and with some speed up front, Junee’s attack was just as strong as the middle and back line.
Jaguars worked hard to maintain possession and turned up the pressure.
Taylah Howell scored the first goal after some good work from midfield.
Tolland responded in the 27th minute with a goal but Junee hit back immediately with Howell again putting the ball in the back of the net just a minute later.
Junee kept up the pressure in the second half, some good passing and attack saw Kara Hancock score, followed by Teagan McCormack who caught a rebound from the goalkeeper.
The final goal came from Howell who scored her third.
Coach Craig Duncan highlighted the effort in defence by Sara Smart, Megan Puttock, Starsh Miller, Laine Seary and Nic Baldry which gave the midfielders Chloe Middleston, Nicca Ryan, Genelle Keough, Hancock and strikers Phoebe Quinn, Howell and McCormack a chance to attack.
“It was a solid team effort on the day and while a few players have to catch up with the rest in terms of fitness, this team is shaping up for a good season,” Duncan said.
“Best on the day for Junee was Taylah Howell, Sara Smart, Genelle Keough and Megan Puttock.”
The women’s reserve team has a bye this weekend and first grade play Cootamundra.
