Organised by the Junee Motor Club and now in its third year, it once again attracted thousands through the showground gates.
For some swappers, they couldn’t keep the stock on the table while others had a lukewarm response, but the club’s assistant secretary John Lawrence said feedback was generally positive.
“We had complete cars all the way to children’s toys and books,” Mr Lawrence said.
With three swap meets under the belt, there aren’t too many changes expected, although the formula may be refined.
Mr Lawrence said attracting a few more shoppers would be good for the club.
“We’ve got all the bugs ironed out, we just need to get the word out,” he said.
While the event fell on the Easter long weekend, Mr Lawrence said it didn’t appear to affect numbers of either swappers or shoppers with people coming from as far as Sydney and Canberra.
He said the club stood behind its decision to keep it as the first weekend in April as it made it easy for people attending.
“Every five years we might have Easter, but we’re not going to change it,” he said.
Mr Lawrence said the children’s rides, food, coffee, donut vans and Junee Rotary’s barbecue had done well during the event. He credited the success of the event to club members, sponsers and the community help.
“We’re grateful for the club members who fronted up to help out, we also had members of the public volunteer to help out with the parking,” Mr Lawrence said.
