The American actor and film producer is renting out his Palm Springs, California, estate for $US4500 ($5770) a night with a two-night stay minimum.

DiCaprio, 40, who is rumoured to be dating singer Rihanna, bought the 650 square metre property for $US5.23 million (about $6.7 million) in February.

Set on half a hectare, the house features six bedrooms and 7½ bathrooms.

"Floor-to-ceiling windows throughout bring the beauty of the desert, the clusters of palm trees, and the majestic San Jacinto Mountains into the estate," the rental website said.

The furnished rental also boasts a guest house overlooking the pool, tennis court, cocktail bar and daily maid service.

DiCaprio's abode was originally built in 1964 by architect Donald Wexler solely for singer and actress Dinah Shore.

The 10-time Golden Globe Award nominee owns a number of properties across the US; including three complexes in Southern California and two apartments in New York City.

DiCaprio was nominated for Academy Awards for roles in What's Eating Gilbert Grape, The Aviator, Blood Diamond and The Wolf of Wall Street.

He is currently working on movies: The Revenant and Mean Business on North Ganson Street.
