On the second weekend of March, the festival returns and will make a move to focus more on the Broadway side of town.

Councillor Smith, who is also the chairman of the festival committee said the festival had moved its focus following the success of Junee Business and Trades' Christmas on Broadway.

Rhythm 'n' Rail has previously used Railway Square, Memorial Park as well Humphrys and Peel streets as the festival's hub.

Both the Railway Cafe and Off The Railz are organising markets and entertainment for the festival weekend.

Railway Cafe owner Debbie Daley said it wasn't the first time markets had been hosted in Railway Square.

"We didn't want people hopping off the (tin hares) train and see there's nothing there," she said.

Children's activities including a Frozen themed space will be featured.

Meanwhile Off the Railz owner Tabitha Lynch said market stalls and entertainment would feature underneath and inside the Loftus building.

Cr Smith said business using the festival as leverage to grow their business was a positive development.

"It's good to see the town embracing the festival," Cr Smith said.

"In a long term sense - this is what we need, I would like to see the festival grow and this is an important step.

"It's always been a challenge to include both sides of the railway line but this helps meet that goal."
