Emergency services were called to properties across Wagga, with the central area hardest hit.
Between 6pm and 6.30pm the city was hit with 3.2 millimetres of rain.
Wind gusts reached 39 kmp/h in a southerly direction.
The top speed was 15 knots.
The Murrumbidgee Turf Club was inundated with large hail stones, covering the race track.
Stormy conditions are expected on Friday, with late rain expected with temperature hitting a top of 29 degrees.
