Now the Friends of the Athenium have returned the support they received during the milestone event. Committee member Roger Quine presented $700 to Cooinda Court this week.
The funds were collected from a raffle conducted during the opening of the theatre and another raffle sold by the group earlier this year.
The funds come on top of the $500 donation the group made earlier this year.
"We'll have another raffle prepared for the future," Mr Quine said. "I think when it gets a bit higher, it will get some more momentum."
Cooinda Court management committee president Patricia Butler said the fundraising drive was steadily rising. "It is a delight to receive this magnificent donation from the Athenium Theatre," she said.
"The $500 along with their other generous donation will undeniably assist Cooinda Court towards achieving our goal.
"It is quite remarkable what a small community is capable of when they put their mind to it, and we are truly blessed with such amazing community spirit," Mrs Butler said.
The Cooinda Court fire sprinkler retrofit fund now stands at just over $40,000.
