The inaugural Empower program's student darts championship was held last week, with 30 participants lining up to have a throw.
"This was a test of accuracy, their mathematical skills and performance under pressure as large crowds gathered to watch each match," organiser and teacher William Lea said.
Sonny "Bullseye" Punch swept through to the grand final knocking off Ben "Treble 20" Turner.
The knockout competition had random draw produced high scoring match ups early on.
Some students were unlucky to be drawn against some good darts players.
"Each student had 18 darts to clear a score of 301 with Jamie Johns the star performer in round one, with a score of one remaining after her allotted darts," Lea said.
"After a week of knockout matches, we were left with four students."
These students were Raymond "Pineapple" Hocking, Adam "One Dart" Spackman along with eventual grand finalists Turner and Punch.
During the finals students gathered around to support their friends.
"Music from DJ Ando and interviews of participants before and during the game added to the atmosphere," Lea said.
"The final itself was very tight until a pivotal moment when a throw from Ben Turner hit the treble 20 but bounced off the board.
"Sonny continued his strong scoring to take advantage of this and become the first Junee High student darts champion."
Lea credited the success of the darts competition to student involvement.
"Students are already looking forward to the next tournament."
