That childhood dream is what has motivated Mr Ryan to continue to entertain, thrill, inspire and challenge the laws of physics.
"I was born to risk my life and entertain people," he said.
Mr Ryan talks about his career in his book, Legend: A Childhood Dream.
Co-authored with journalist Stephen Webb, the book covers Mr Ryan's life from childhood on a penny-farthing bicycle to the excitement of his record-breaking stunts.
"Twenty-five years go so quickly ... I often think back and wonder how much I've done, there's so much more I want to do," Mr Ryan said.
Mr Ryan admitted compiling the material for the book was a bit emotional, but a lot of fun, talking of his drive to overcome challenges such as dyslexia.
However the book isn't just about sharing his story, Mr Ryan wants to help spur young people to pursue their dreams.
"It doesn't matter if you're solving the world's problems or jumping motorbikes, you've got to have the passion and drive to achieve," he said.
While Mr Ryan is celebrating his 25th year as a daredevil, it hasn't stopped him from attempting the impossible, with six more stunts planned for later this year and into 2015 on the grounds of Monte Cristo.
It's expected the book will be published next year.
