Under the plan the Rotary Christmas Revels and the Combined Churches Christmas Carols will staged on the same day as part of a broader celebration.
JBT president Tony Butt said the idea stemmed from the unveiling and lighting decoration of a Christmas tree on Broadway last year by Junee Shire Council.
"Instead of having a number of smaller celebrations which go for a few hours each, we thought why not do everything on the one day," he said.
Mr Butt said the goal was to bring the district together with a focus on family entertainment, with it finishing after the tree's lights are switched on.
Initial discussions between participating groups have concentrated on having the Rotary Revels precede the carols to allow a focus on the meaning of the season in the evening.
To help attract a large crowd, markets, a colouring-in competition and live entertainment will help generate a festival-like atmosphere.
Staging a single event - slated for December 6 - would allow limited resources to be deployed more effectively, Mr Butt said.
The JBT was seeking additional support from the town's community groups, he said.
So far council, police, Junee Lions Club, fire brigade, Cooinda Court and several businesses have expressed their support.
"I'd love to see every Junee community group involved and those who haven't had an invitation are still more than welcome," Mr Butt said.
