The mum and daughter team of Judy-Ann Emberson and Leah Ellis will feature in Nunsense, a musical comedy which has been written by Daniel Goggin.
Through the eyes of the members of a religious order the show deals with leadership and crisis management and includes acting, dance and singing.
The volunteer actors are putting in the hard yards with three to four rehearsals a week before opening night.
"Some of us have only just come out of another show - Life in the Spotlight, so we're trying to get in as much practice as possible," Ms Ellis said.
Ms Emberson said the play was quite simply "hilarious" and was in awe of her daughter's presence on stage.
"I'm incredibly proud of her," she said.
It's not the first show in which the familial link has added to the theatre.
"In every show that we are in together we play characters who are opposed to each other," Ms Ellis said.
"It's fun.
"We're quite comfortable working with each other."
Director Irene Robson said having a mum and daughter team worked extremely well.
"They can bounce off each other (creatively)," Ms Robson said.
"The ladies are working extremely hard.
"Opening night will be a show and a half."
