Run by the Junee Hospital Auxiliary and piloted by Barbara Rynehart and Robyn McGregor, the impact it has on patient comfort at the hospital belies the brief time volunteers spend with it.
Through the lolly trolley, fundraisers and support from the community, the auxiliary has donated $17,000 to the Junee MPS.
"The community are very proud of our multi-purpose service which has a reputation for giving quality care, due mainly to the efforts of local doctors, staff, ambulance crew, community health workers and volunteers," Mrs McGregor said.
The number was announced at the group's recent annual general meeting.
Auxiliary president Sharon Longmore said the funds were used to add useful pieces of equipment to the facility for staff and improve care and comfort for patients.
"State government funding can't cover everything, but we can help provide things are useful to have," she said.
"It's not always about the latest and greatest medical equipment, but also helping supplies for other programs like diversional therapy."
Ms Longmore said community groups provided invaluable assistance and highlighted the Junee Motor Club's Show 'n' Shine event.
"They generously donate their profits to us - it makes a big difference."
Ms Longmore is hopeful the auxiliary will be able to recruit more volunteers over the next year as the group moves to ramp up its fundraising.
In the last 12 months, a blanket warmer has been acquired for patients admitted to the emergency department.
While it seems like an insubstantial item, Ms Longmore said it made a difference to patients who had spent hours in the cold.
Staff are also using new lifting devices which have been fitted above patients' beds - making it easier for some patients to get out of bed in the morning.
