The marathon is a 12-hour exercise session using the centre's exercise program which raises funds for Can Assist, which started in 2009.
"It's grown since then, we've raised just a little under $25,000 over the past few years," fitness manager Jenny Read said.
"It's doing something healthy for yourself and something good for the community."
This year's goal is to break through that amount, with Ms Read hoping to raise as much as possible.
Can Assist life member Maureen Fitzgerald said the organisation was grateful for the event which would raise vital funds to support locals with cancer.
"We appreciate the efforts by people in the community to help raise funds for us," she said.
"It's thanks to the staff at the rec centre and Jenny Read who've gotten right behind this."
Mrs Fitzgerald said Can Assist members would be stopping by to help out during the marathon to ensure it ran smoothly.
The centre's six instructors will be helping out participants and another two will be travelling down from Goulburn to help run the Les Mills classes.
"Each class runs three times during the day, so there's plenty of opportunity for people to do the class they prefer," Ms Read said.
You don't have to be on the move for the full 12 hours however.
"It's not about breaking world records," she said.
"It's about assisting Can Assist which assists the community, about moving with friends but it also gives locals a chance to sample what's on offer at the rec centre."
