The talented 12-year-old will be aiming to shave more than a second off her times over the next few months as she looks to compete at the national swimming championships.
Fortunately, she won't be taking on the task completely alone.
Coach Noel Poynter will support her on the way, but she'll also have a helping hand from Ray Warren.
Jasmine was presented with the scholarship founded by the nation's pre-eminent rugby league commentator.
Warren founded the scholarship to give something back to the people of Junee when a bronze statue of his likeness was unveiled in 2011.
Jasmine's mum Natalie said the money would be used on a development camp with several Commonwealth Games swimmers in Queensland before she travels to the national championships in 2015.
As the weather warmed up, Jasmine's training regime and intensity would ramp up, Mr Poynter said.
The first national championship next year is the start of a three-year plan.
"In the first year it's an experience, the second year the goal is to make a final and in the third year it's to win a final," Mr Poynter said.
However, Jasmine isn't worried about her training load jumping from five nights and a morning to nine to 10 training sessions a week.
"A second is a long time, but I can do it," she said.
