On September 19, a charity ball will be held at the Athenium Theatre - with funds raised to be donated to the fire sprinkler retrofit for the community-run aged care hostel.
In the wake of a fatal fire in a Sydney nursing home, the state government implemented new rules for aged care facilities.
JBT president Tony Butt said the government had left it up to the community to support itself.
"There's no grants available for this," he said.
"Every nursing home and aged care hostel in the state has to comply - which is why there are no grants available."
Mr Butt said there were three reasons for hosting the charity ball.
"We wanted to provide an entertaining night out for the people of Junee where they can catch up with their friends, listen and dance to some of the best entertainers in the Riverina," he said.
"Groove Factorie is a collective group of some of the Riverina's top entertainers including the likes of, Dale Alison, Matt Alston, Justine Hogan, David Wall, Geoff Gibson, Mark Atkinson, which is fantastic for Junee."
Mr Butt said the Athenium Theatre was saved to host such events as this.
"Thirdly, the GEO Group will be showcasing some of its magnificent art and craftwork, which it will make available for an auction on the night, with the proceeds from the auction and the ball going to Cooinda Court."
Mr Butt said the community's support would be greatly appreciated for this worthy cause.
