While starting work at the crack of dawn might sound like a raw deal, Mr Dwyer said it was all part and parcel of working in a newsagent.
"I used to come in at 3am, it becomes habit after a while," Mr Dwyer said.
"I spent 25 years on the railway, so I've been doing shift work all my working life," he said.
A few weeks ago, Mr and Mrs Dwyer gave the keys to Tanya Guinan and Chris Allen.
"We're very grateful for all the support we've had over the past 26 years," Mr Dwyer said.
"I've lived in Junee all my life, it's a great community to raise family and live."
For Ms Guinan, taking over the newsagent was a chance to do something different.
"It's more than people just buying something ... it's a social hub," she said.
Early morning workers from the abattoir, jail and locals starting their day often stop by the newsagent, making it one of town's busiest shops in the morning.
Ms Guinan said after previously working in an office, the hustle and bustle of the newsagent was a welcome change.
For the next few weeks while Ms Guinan and Mr Allen get to know the business and its customers, locals might spot Mr Dwyer lending a hand before spending more time with his family and travelling.
"We'll miss it all, but all good things must come to an end.
"I might try and get the golf handicap down a bit, that's a test of character that is."
