7.15am: Australia made it a hat-trick of women's 4x200m relay gold medals when they finished the third night of competition on a high in Glasgow.
Australia's Emma McKeon, Alicia Coutts, Brittany Elmslie and Bronte Barratt clocked a Games record seven minutes, 49.90 seconds ahead of Canada (7:51.67) and England (7:52.45). It was a third Glasgow gold medal for Games rookie McKeon.
Emily Seebohm set a new Commonwealth Games record with a swim of 59.37, with Hocking also under the minute mark in 59.93. Welsh swimmer Georgia Davies split the two.
There was another dual Aussie presence on the podium when Taylor McKeown took out the women's 200 metres breaststroke and compatriot Sally Hunter grabbed silver.
Para-swimmer Daniel Fox Australia's first gold medal on the night when he comprehensively won the 200 metre freestyle (S8) final.
Fox's gold came after Cate and Bronte Campbell were upstaged in the 50m freestyle by England's Francesca Halshall, who won in 23.96. Cate Campbell finished second in 24.00 with Bronte Campbell third in 24.20.
In the first race of the night Aussie Grant Irvine won a silver medal in the 200m butterfly behind Chad Le Clos from South Africa.
7am: The action has been centred on the pool for the first three days but the spotlight has turned to the politics of athletics overnight.
Athletics Australia’s head coach Eric Hollingsworth has barely spoken with Australia’s best athlete, Sally Pearson, since a fiery confrontation in Poland earlier in the year.
6am: Scott Sunderland claimed a third Commonwealth Games gold medal of his career, defending the men's 1000 metres time trial title he won four years ago in Delhi when he was also part of the successful team sprint line-up.
Having broken the great Hoy's Commonwealth Games record in Delhi, the 26-year-old West Australian was challenged on Saturday night to better it when New Zealand's Matthew Archibald went under the mark with a time of 1.01.162.
Sunderland responded emphatically, churning out victory in 1.00.675 to get his nose ahead of another Kiwi, Simon van Velthooven (1.01.060) who was riding opposite him in the last pairing, leaving Archibald to settle for bronze.
Earlier, the Australian duo of Kieran Modra and Jason Niblett picked up another silver in the men's para sport sprint B tandem. They were edged out for the second evening running by Scotland's Neil Fachie and Craig MacLean,
5.30am: Australian shooter Daniel Repacholi won his first individual Commonwealth Games gold medal in the 10m air pistol in Carnoustie. He beat India's Prakash Nanjappa in the final.
The man from the Hunter Valley won a pairs gold medal in Manchester in 2006 but his breakthrough in Glasgow represents the biggest moment in a 20-year career that has taken him to three Commonwealth Games and three Olympics.
