On Sunday, Junee Rotary Club presented two of their members with the honour - Graeme Guelfi and mayor Lola Cummins.
Mr Guelfi has been a member of Rotary for 32 years and 15 as treasurer but Peter Commens said this was just a portion of his contribution to the community.
A long-serving member of the Volunteer Rescue Association, the Junee's hockey club, St Luke's Church, the Masonic Lodge, the development of Vita-Call in Junee and community transport were some of causes Mr Guelfi had dedicated his time to.
"He was asked to look after the gatekeepers for the Junee Show for one to two years," Mr Commens said.
"That was 25 years ago."
Elected in 1983 as a councillor, as deputy mayor in 1995 and mayor in 1997, Mr Guelfi said councillor Cummins had a record of helping drive community development in Junee.
The Junee Recreation and Aquatic Centre, Medical Centre and new Library were all thanks to the leadership she had demonstrated on council - which itself was recognised with the AR Bluett Award in 2002 for being one of NSW's most progressive local governments.
Mr Guelfi said Cr Cummins' mayoralty represented a turning point in Junee's development.
In between all of this Cr Cummins found time to work hard in growing the Riverina Schoolboys Carnival.
"I look at our club members who are Paul Harris Fellows and their years of service ... it's service to our community, service to our fellows and service to our club," Cr Cummins said. "Rotary is well supported by the community due to the work done by the members."
