Now in its third year, the Parade of Champions has been a showstopper in the past and takes place on Excellence in Agriculture Day, celebrating members of the show family for their outstanding contributions.
Mr Cronk brought six South Suffolk sheep to the 2006 show and returned with eight ribbons, winning all grand champion titles in the Sydney Royal Sheep and Fleece Show.
In 2008, Mr Cronk hung up his breeding boots and is now entering his fifth year as chief steward of the South Suffolk judging, but was surprised to be honoured in the grand parade.
"I'm elated, quite surprised and feel quite privileged," Mr Cronk said of the honour.
President of the Royal Agricultural Society of NSW (RAS), Glenn Dudley, said the champions are the heart and soul of the show.
“Each year, our exhibitors, committee members and volunteers travel hundreds of kilometres and dedicate countless hours, helping to shape what has become an iconic, Australian event,” he said.
