The third attempt at an annual general meeting is scheduled for Monday, April 21 and it could potentially be the final meeting for the sub-branch.
However, the sub-branch can still be saved but it will need the help of local RSL members to continue into the future.
"It's our last chance," president Derek Lewis said.
A new executive committee of the president, secretary and treasurer needs to be formed at the meeting. Mr Lewis said the current executive were ageing and could no longer continue to operate the branch.
"We've done our share," he said.
A survey sent out to members of the sub-branch has given the outgoing committee hope the branch will continue.
"The response to the survey has been positive, with members wanting to keep the branch open," Mr Lewis said.
"But a committee needs to be formed before April 30."
Several alternatives have been considered to keep the branch open without a committee, but it would require another sub-branch either stepping in, or amalgamations.
Junee's RSL Sub-branch is a critical part of the town's Anzac Day and Remembrance Day celebrations - namely, without fund-raising for, and then paying the insurance costs, commemorations would be difficult to organise.
The failure of the sub-branch would be a bitter pill to swallow with the centenary of World War One this year, and the 100th anniversary of Anzac Day itself next year.
