On Saturday, hundreds of hot rods will descend on Junee from Narrandera for the 30th annual Rod Run.
More than 150 hot rods from four states will be roaring into town.
Peel Street will be transformed from a thoroughfare to a showroom as the wheels are shown off, including one of the highlights of the hot rod scene, a 1936 Ford Tourer.
Owned by Melburnian Peter Aitchison, it's one of the most awarded hot rods in the country.
While hot rod owners take their time to wander around and discover the delights of Junee, locals are invited to select their favourite rod.
For a gold coin, locals can vote for the best of the gleaming cars, with all proceeds going towards Cooinda Court's fire sprinkler retrofit upgrade.
Helping to create what's expected to be "a nice afternoon in the park" has been contributions from the community.
Junee Shire Council's representative on the Cooinda Court management committee councillor Jo Ward said the community support received to host the hot rods had been outstanding.
"People have jumped at the chance to help out and look for something to do," she said.
"I thought some people might help out but the number of people who have offered has been inspiring.
"This is what small communities are all about."
Everything from offers of a band's performing for locals to helping sell an extra book of raffle tickets has propelled the event forward and added to the donations which will go to Cooinda Court.
"The community built this facility and it would be an incredible disappointment for it to close," Cr Ward said.
"We've been told by the state government we have to fund this upgrade ourselves."
Without fire sprinklers, Cooinda Court would not be compliant with state government legislation and could potentially be shut down.
"We need to show the state government that we can make an effort to keep Cooinda Court open."
