While players were able to stage a match between themselves, coach Jade Williams said it wasn't the same as facing another team.
On Saturday, they will trial against the Wagga Kangaroos.
Williams said the format was still being worked out with discussions with 'Roos coach Adam Hall continuing, the inital plan was to have four 20-minute sessions but Junee would welcome two 40 minute halves.
"Things are looking all right, we've got 30 senior players ... we need to get out on the field," Williams said.
Williams said it had been a long pre-season without a game with the team not heading to the annual West Wyalong knock-out.
The team has also been rocked by star recruit Moses Manu's decision to abandon the side just weeks before the season's start.
However, Williams said the team wasn't too worried by the departure.
"We were worried there would be an impact, but we'd know by now if it had a massive impact, the boys realise you need to move on," he said.
The departure of Manu leaves a gap in the forward pack for the team, and Williams said it was opportunity for players to show their talent.
"It gives players like forward Jackson Metcalfe a chance at cementing a place in the starting squad."
With rain forecast for the weekend, Williams said it was expected the game would be played at Loftus Oval from 3pm on Saturday, April 12.
