The game was played at a cracking pace and Junee played some brilliant passing football to create chances and apply pressure to the opposition’s defence.
Junee’s defence was also required to put in a big effort and while facing a number of fast attackers, April Mills, Abby Duncan, Prue Duncan, Chelsea McGregor, Megan Puttock and Nicole Baldry were able to hold firm.
Junee’s midfield of Stephanie Puttock, Sonia Commins and Sara Smart all had solid games and maintained forward momentum, supplying the ball to the wings and striker.
On the wing, Laine Seary, Keely Hancock, Nat Puttock and Kara Hancock relished their work and kept pressing the Tolland defence.
Junee had two lapses of concentration in the first half and each resulted in soft goals for Tolland, with the Wolves taking advantage of any opportunity.
The second half was far better for Junee and the team lifted to create a couple of chance, but in the end it was not Junee’s day.
The Jaguars were able to control the Wolves tightly during the second half, nixing every attack by the Wagga team.
Best for Junee on the day were Stephanie Puttock, Laine Seary, Abby Duncan and Nicole Baldry, who backed the team up after playing in reserve grade.
