Geordie Shore is an English adapation of the American show Jersey Shore.
Four show regulars – Gary Beadle, Vicky Pattison, Sophie Kasaei and James Tindale – spent the night at the haunted house for an episode which is due to be screened in Australia after July.
Monte Cristo owner Lawrence Ryan said while he couldn’t say too much, the foursome left pretty spooked on Tuesday.
“They were definitely shaken,” Mr Ryan said.
“It was a big night for the four who decided to be involved.”
Despite the stars’ arrival being top secret, a quick visit to the grocery store to grab some snacks set off an onslaught of social media posts on Facebook and Twitter.
“We had kids yelling from the gate ‘we love you’,” Mr Ryan said.
“I had to chase a couple off the property as well.”
Junee mayor Lola Cummins welcomed the exposure given by the TV show – which is screened in 12 countries – saying she hoped it planted Junee on the map for backpackers.
“I think it’s great for the town and the shire,” Cr Cummins said.
“We welcome anything that promotes the town.”
It’s not Monte Cristo’s first brush with fame.
The homestead was the location for the Muirhouse film and has previously hosted radio shock jocks Kyle and Jackie O and Ghost Hunters International.
