SEVEN Junee swimmers have qualified for the finals of the Speedo Sprints Series to be held at Homebush Bay on March 13.
A team of 19 swimmers went to Tumut on the weekend to compete in the heats and non-championship carnival.
Eli Douglas, 13, and Esther Hampton, 12, both qualified in four events.
Jasmine Phillips, Serena Brookes, Julia Bonat and Xenia Brookes all have three swims and Nicholas White qualified in the 50-metres breaststroke.
It will be the first time Jasmine and Nicholas have represented the region in Sydney.
In the non-championship events, Junee had two swimmers attending their first carnival.
Lachlan Hart, 7, came away with two second placings and Charlie Barton, 10, notched two first placings and a second place.
The Morath family had a good day with all three swimmers registering personal-best times.
Kel, 9, had a first place and three seconds, Romani, 10, had three firsts and a third and Tayce, 12, came away with two firsts, a second and third.
The Tuckwells also had a good day with six personal best times.
Kelli-Ann, 13, placed with three firsts and a third, Patrick, 11, had two seconds and Olivia, 9, finished with two firsts, a second and a third.
Oliver Phillips and Jack Douglas swam in the 50m races for the first time with Oliver finishing with two firsts and Jack a second and third place. Ashleigh Bonat, 14, had a second and third place.
Jake White, 7, swam three personal best times for the day in the 25m events.
The swimmers are off to Temora this weekend for the second of the non-championship carnivals, followed by Boorowa the weekend after.
