Junior rugby league facilities in pipeline

15 Jul, 2010 11:42 AM
JUNEE Junior Rugby League hasbeen fortunate to receive a grant under the federal government stimulus package to build a new toilet amenities and canteen block at Loftus Oval.

It will have new toilets including disabled facilities as well as a new canteen area.

The old block will stand and have the toilet area modified into referee change room facilities and the canteen area will be used for first aid/secretary office.

As well as the funding, the facility is being partly paid for by Junee Junior Rugby League and Riverina Schoolboys Carnival, with donations received from Junee Touch and Eurongilly Public School.

As well as being an asset to the town, the facility is used by a number of other organisations such as Junee junior and senior cricket and all the schools for in-town and regional sporting events.

The project has been in the pipeline for a number of years and is expected to be completed by December.

Junee Junior Rugby League has some fundraising ideas to complete the project, with a raffle of a signed guernsey donated by Canberra Raiders to be drawn at presentation night.

The jumper was donated during the Raiders school visit in February and has now been framed.

Junee’s own Matt Ward has signed the guernsey.
