Help from Tongia gives U14s edge

THE under 15s came up against a much stronger Cootamundra side in a fiery game in which both teams had players sent from the field.

Will Holt was the only tryscorer for Junee, which lost 26-4.

The under 14s played a great game, defeating Cootamundra 32-18.

The boys had first grade player Sione Tongia help at training this week and it showed in their effort.

The under 13s played well below their best against Cootamundra, holding on for a 22-12 win.

Junee stuck to its guns, playing a better second half looking to spread the ball wider and defend well.

Tries went to Trent Field, Cameron Hands, Connor McCauley and Adam Bradley, with Cameron converting three.

The under 12s played a close game, with Cootamundra getting the upper hand in the last 10 minutes.

The boys went down 30-18.

Jacob Holt and Joel Kelly scored two tries each, with Aidan Sweeney converting one for one.

Putting in a much improved effort the under 10s played against Cootamundra in a high-scoring game.

The team went down 46-26.

The under 9 played with great improvement from last round against Cootamundra even though Cootamundra won.

Lincoln Bull and Jackson Bennett scored the tries with Jarrod Harrison and Tristen Field converting.

The under 7 side defeated Cootamundra 28-10, with Junee putting in a great effort.

Caleb Vine was excellent in attack, scoring a bagful of tries, one coming from a great offload from Liam Thornton, who played his usual solid game.

Riley Crane was the other tryscorer and converted his own try.

Simon Evers is improving each week and stood out in defence, making several try- saving tackles. He was one of the best on ground.

The Junee players really enjoyed their footy this week and are keen to take on Harden-Boorowa next week.

Finally, the under 6s had a great game with improved tackling from Jonty Orr, Patrick Tulaga and Samuel Sainsbury and great running from Jakc McCarty, Thomas Walker, Liam Harbrow, Thomas Foley and Digby Makeham.

Tries were scored by Jack McCarthy and Samuel Sainsbury, with help from Thomas Foley.

Players awards went to Samuel Sainsbury, Thomas Walker and Jonty Orr.
