Charities to benefit from event

27 May, 2010 12:22 PM
BROTHERS and Junee will contest the highly-anticipated Rick Keast Memorial Shield on Saturday at Equex Centre, with kick off at 2.30pm.

The game will be played in memory Wagga rugby league stalwart Rick Keast, who coached both the Brethren and the Diesels during his illustrious career.

The event is raising funds for the Keast Family Trust, the Kids Cottage Appeal and the Junee Can Assist.

Raffles will be conducted on the day, along with a number of memorabile auctions.

The main auction will consist of the jumpers worn by the players in the first grade fixture, with Brothers to play in yellow guernseys and Junee in pink for cancer awareness.

The guernseys will be autographed by the three ex-NRL stars, Steve Reardon, Corey Hughes and Jason Death, signed up to take part in the blockbuster fixture.

Popular band Three Way Street will entertain at the after game function starting at 4.30pm.
