LAVINGTON coach Josh Cale says Junee’s position on the Group Nine ladder isn’t an accurate reflection of where they should be.
Five days ago, Cale controlled Junee Diesels’ trio Damien Willis, Nathan McGowan and Sione Tongia in the county championship, but come Saturday, Cale will be using this inside knowledge to help aid Lavington’s quest to extend its winning streak.
Despite knowing how the trio plays together, Cale said it was not them he would be worried about.
“Look, after coaching them in the representative team, I know how dangerous they actually are,” he said.
“But it would be silly to just concentrate on these guys when I know how dangerous the team can be as a whole.
“You can’t just worry about them when Junee has blokes like Adam Perry, who we are fully aware is a very important factor in their game.
“They are a strong team right across the pack, and if we mark just a couple of players we know how much trouble we will get into.”
Admitting Lavington expected a tough game against the Diesels at Willow Park on Saturday, he said Lavington players were preparing for a physical clash.
“I think it’s going to be a really big test for us,” he said.
“I don’t think Junee’s position on the table adequately reflects just how strong they are.”
