The GEO junior netball teams had a busy weekend with their usual Saturday game and a gala day in Wagga on Sunday.
On Saturday, the under 9s again had a convincing 30-1 win over the Wagga Winners.
All girls produced some excellent skills to contribute to the win.
In the under 10s they showed courage and with great defence they went down 9-8 to Quinty Milky Ways.
Sarah Stevens was awarded best and fairest on the day.
With a quick wash of the uniforms they were all back in Wagga by 9am for the gala day.
The GEO under 9 team was eager to start and had a great day playing only five of its scheduled six games due to late rain.
With only 10-minute halves instead of 10-minute quarters the girls dominated each game they played.
Each team member was issued with a medallion at the end of competition and they were hung proudly around their necks for the remainder of the day.
A huge support team of mothers huddled in the shelter throughout the day, escaping the very cold wind.
They were great in assisting Jacqui Stevens with positions and organising the team each game.
The GEO under 9s team was Caitlyn Guinan, Brooke Harpley, Ainsley Hillam, Georgia Breen, Francis Heffernan, Hayley Stevens, Kitty Harbrow, Chelsea Hillam and Claire Corbett.
The GEO under 10s had an introduction to the competitiveness of Wagga netball.
They had a concinving win in two games, a draw in another and unfortunately went down by small margins in three of their games.
The girls had a great day and coach Kelly who committed herself to umpiring the six games.
With the girls competing against some determined young netballers from other teams, the whole day offered great experience.
Their last game was played in the rain with the girls cold and tired but still maintaining their strength and focus to complete the game with great sportsmanship.
The GEO under 10s team was Eliza Turton, Emily Guinan, Miranda McLaughlin, Madison Harpley, Sarah Stevens, Gemma Crawford, Ingrid Honner, Abbey Smith, Brianna Crowder and absent Taylor May Spackman.
