IN cold and rainy conditions the Junee GEO under 10s ran themselves ragged against the Wagga New Kids Shimmers, going down 15-3.
Madison Harpley and Sarah Stevens played their usual workhorse games, both continuously offering their best efforts in defence and attack against much taller and experienced players.
Gemma Crawford and Ingrid Honner were gallant in the goal third, with rebounds and distributing the ball back to GEO’s goal.
Abbey Smith, Eliza Turton and Brianna Crowder were quite active in the centre third, assisting in the movement of the ball throughout the game.
Miranda McLaughlin and Emily Guinan both had strong games, controlling the ball well throughout.
The end score did not ring true to the game played.
GEO had numerous goal shots and just could not land them.
However, with great sportsmanship they played strong until the final whistle.
Best and fairest went to Emily Guinan.
The GEO under 9s, captained by Brooke Harpley, cruised to a 12-1 victory over New Kids Angels.
The GEO girls dominated the court and displayed a high level of ball skills.
Claire Corbett and Caitlyn Guinan used their height to demonstrate excellent defence.
Kitty Harbrow played her best game yet, as did Ainsley Hillam, who didn’t stop chasing down loose passes.
Hayley Stevens played her usual solid game in both defence and attack.
Georgia Breen stuck to the opposition, rarely giving the Angels a chance to score.
Frances Heffernan and Chelsea Hillam both displayed their strong atheletism, out-running the opposition on numerous occasions.
Best on the court was awarded to Hayley Stevens and most improved this week went to Kitty Harbrow.
Next week is the last game before the holiday break.
