29 Apr, 2010 12:39 PM
THE Junee Women’s Bowling Club district fours team placed in the final last Thursday but unfortunately went down to the Rules Club.

The Junee team, with B Lawson as skipper, F Quine, S Stephen and P Lawson were defeated 22/15 by the Rules team of K Morley, L Maher, F Bollinger and B Cotterill.

Congratulations to the ladies for getting so far in the competition.

There were no social bowls on Saturday due to the welcome rain but there was a big turn out on Monday with the eventual winners being Dave Billingham, Lyle Billingham and John Puttock.

Ladies district pairs first round was played at the Junee Bowling Club on Tuesday and the second round will be played at the club today.

Results will appear in next week’s Southern Cross.

The Pennants resume for the men on Saturday with the fives and sevens playing their last round and the fours playing their second last round before the finals.
