Pennants season is set to roll for 2010

THE 2010 pennants season is about to begin for the Junee Bowling Club.

The first round will be played on Saturday, February 20 with the club entering grades four, five and seven.

The grade four team to play at the Rules Club will be K Seton, M Holmes, J Passlow and P Price, B Purse, S Seton, R Thompson and S Smith, I Cooper, B Fanning, T Clarke and P Guinan.

The manager will be Martin Holmes.

The grade five team to play at Wagga RSL will be R Woodall, J Puttock, L Billingham and K McGregor, H Thompson, BW Smith, W Mann and D Ptaschinski, A Devlin, J Smith, G Fitzgerald and B Makeham.

The manager will be Harry Thompson.

The grade seven team to play at Coolamon will be T McAuliffe, T Ryan, J Cummins and R Billingham, BJ Smith, P Smith, R Lawson and J Hersant, C Cochrane, L Hayward, B Lawson and A Kearins.

The manager will be Les Hayward.

If any players are unavailable, please let the selectors or the manager know as soon as possible.

The first round of the minor paris will be played on February 28, or at a time agreed by both teams, so if you have not put your entry in yet, do so as soon as you can, as it closes tomorrow at 6pm.

The third round of the minor singles has been played.

The games resulted in Todd Clarke defeating Tony McAuliffe 31-20, Brett Fanning defeating John Puttock 31-17 and Peter

Price defeating Lyle Billingham 31-8.

In the semi-finals Peter Price will play Todd Clarke, while Brett Fanning is yet to know who his opponent will be because two games have not yet been played.

Business house bowls resumes on Tuesday, February 16 at 6.30pm.

There are only seven rounds and it concludes on Tuesday, March 30.

Any team wishing to withdraw should contact the club, otherwise it will be deemed that all teams are playing again.

The major singles nominations are open on Friday, February 12 and the first round will be played on Sunday, March 28.
