Fours championship final finishes in a wash-out

16 Dec, 2011 01:30 PM
THE Junee Bowling Club’s fours championship final was washed out after only four ends on Saturday – but the mixed fours on Sunday was completed before the downpour.

Marlene Logan, Bruce Makeham, Nicole Clark and skip Todd Clark defeated Barbara Anderson, Bryan Purse, Selina Garlick and skip Allen Shaw 19-13 in the final.

Shaw got away to a good start and led 7-1 after seven ends and was still leading 12-1 after 17, but Clark picked up eight shots in the last four ends.

A big turn out of 36 players contested the ham day bowls on Friday and the winners on 32 points are Adam Whicker, Chris Foley and Dieter Ptaschinski.

The winners of Wednesday’s social bowls were Harry Thompson, Kevin McGregor and Henry Grabsch.

Junee Bowling Club’s Christmas dinner is on tomorrow night with members advised to get names in soon as there is already a large number attending and limited remaining space.
