BOWLERS at the Junee Bowling Club will be busy with some major competition events coming to town.

The club’s major pairs classic will be held over three days next month, starting from February 14, with 27 teams entered from across NSW.

The major singles title will be held from February 12, with more than 20 players already registered.

Roy Buckley, Steve Smith, Peter Guinan and Warren Charlton will be representing Junee at the state fours championship to be played at Wagga RSL this weekend.

Ivan Fitzgerald, Kevin McGregor, Ken Wignall and Harry Thompson won the Wednesday social bowls competition.

In Saturday’s social games, Tim Ryan, Lyle Billingham and Steve Smith were the winners on plus 10, followed by Brian Anderson, Wilbur Mann and Alan Shaw on plus three.

Coogie Thomas, Roy Woodall and Sean Smith finished with minus six on Saturday, while Sean Bruce Makeham, Brian Smith and Murray Dobson had minus 10.

The pennant season begins on February 4 with a list of names already on the board in the clubroom.

Bowling club members are asked to advise selectors of their availability.
