THE excitement in the Junee under 9s Netta team was short-lived on Saturday.
Due to play at 10am, the eight girls arrived ever so keen for the first game of the season.
The excitement soon turned to tears when they were told they were actually due to play at 9am, after a time changed but no-one had called the team.
So next week the girls will play at 9am and all are required to be there as no-one is rostered off. Training will be on Wednesday 3.30-4.30pm.
In C grade, Junee played Rivcoll Buchsows and although beaten 22-8, the girls played an aggressive game, unsettling the opposition at times.
Sarah Heffernan and Allana Jacobson played strongly in defence to be voted best and fairest, while Emma Cuffe received the minor points for her effort.
Hannah Jolley fell during the second quarter and grazed her knee to be replaced by Lauren Goldsworthy, who scored her first goal in the Saturday competition.
Emma Cuffe played goal shooter for the second half and also scored two goals.
Megan Allamby scored five goals for the game with Kate Dwyer and Kate Fitzgerald working hard on the wings.
Monday night ladies will commence on Monday, May 18.
All teams are required lodged their registration forms and pay their registration fee of $50 to the Rec Centre before they will be allowed to take to the court.
Team captains are required to ensure all team members are aware of the rules and conditions of play and that they are all in the appropriate shirt colour each night of the competition.
