Netta girls face experienced opposition

04 Jun, 2009 10:10 AM
JUNEE Netta girls this week were no match for the in-form goal shooters from Lutheran Rockstars.

Georgia Breen, playing her first season of Netta, showed so much improvement this week she was awarded the three points. She played each quarter with determination and style.

Hayley Stevens played another of her feisty games, always ready when needed to help out in the centre.

Claire Corbett and Francis Heffernan were among some great players to shift the ball into Junee’s goal circle, with Brooke Harpley never giving up against a much taller and more experienced player.

In the fourth quarter, with a lot of determination from Ingrid Honner, Madison Harpley and Sarah Stevens, the Rockstars were frustrated at times, unable to take shots at goal due to the tight defence by these three girls.

Overall, the game was exciting and all girls enjoyed themselves.

A reminder to all girls, training is on Wednesday 3.30pm to 4.30pm.

Best and fairest went to Georgia Breen, Hayley Stevens and Ingrid Honner.

Next week, June 6, there is a bye due to the public holiday.
